Student Council is a non-partisan, non-political, and non-profit representative body of students.

The primary goals of the Student Council can be summarized in two key tasks:

• to represent students within the higher education system
• to implement projects in the best interest of the student population.

The Student Council of Šibenik University of Applied Sciences operates within the Student Council of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Croatia.
 

Dear colleagues,

The Student Council of the Šibenik University of Applied Sciences is the body that represents the students of the University in the institution and the higher education system. It has been active for twelve years and is currently in its eighth term.

The strength of the Student Council lies primarily in the synergy between its members, teamwork, and the unstoppable energy of young people who are constantly pushing to expand the capacity of student-focused projects. By enhancing our own knowledge and skills, we have already, and will continue to, reshape the perception of student life in Šibenik.

Through the organization of various events (educational, social, and charitable), study trips, and collaboration with other students and institutions both in Croatia and internationally, we aim to adopt best practices, compete, and win, work on student mobility, encourage cooperation, and undertake joint projects. In doing so, we strengthen partnerships between our institutions and the student population, striving to become more successful, productive, and proactive.

The role of the Student Ombudsperson is to inform students about their rights and responsibilities, receive student complaints related to their rights, and discuss these issues with the relevant bodies of the University. The Ombudsperson advises students on how to assert their rights, participates in disciplinary proceedings involving students to protect their rights, represents students in cases of potential rights violations, and works on improving the University's services to better meet the needs of students.

Typically, student representatives focus more on teaching and the quality of instruction, while the Student Ombudsperson directly addresses student issues and problems. The role of the Student Ombudsperson is highly specific, as they must advocate for students whose rights have been violated while ensuring fairness and not causing harm to others.
