To familiarize students with the basics of anaesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care and the methods of recognition and treatment of life-threatening and intensive care patients. The aim is to enable students to learn in a modern way: to recognise the development of a life-threatening condition, to deal with the cause of death (e.g. to administer resuscitation, to perform resuscitation measures in the event of
cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest), to prevent unwanted complications (shock production, development of infection).

1. to describe the history of the development of anesthesiology, resuscitology, and intensive care
2. to describe the types of anesthesia, anesthesiological procedures, patient preparation for anesthesia, and anesthesia complications
3. Description of the symptoms of a life-threatened patient, including those with vital function arrest
4. Demonstration of appropriate procedures in critically ill patients, including patients in cardiac or respiratory arrest
5. Explanation of the functioning of the intensive care unit, equipment, and treatment procedures for various diagnoses
6. Description of undesirable complications in intensive care unit patients (e.g., worsening of shock, development of infection) and methods of prevention
7. To explain the types and mechanisms of pain, as well as procedures for pain management
