Description:
The goal of the course is to expand the vocabulary related to road and postal traffic as well as the expected grammatical structures that include verb tenses, use of relative and intentional sentences, tenses, word formation possibilities, use of abbreviations in business English. The goal is also to expand the lexicon related to traffic, while the exercises establish and practice grammar and newly acquired vocabulary. Another goal of the course is writing different types of business letters, resumes and preparing for a job interview. Teaching a foreign language aims to introduce students to new communication systems and enable their easier and more direct involvement in world events and familiarization with the elements of culture and civilization of the English-speaking peoples. Learning a foreign language is in line with the aspiration to preserve the wealth of diversity of multilingual Europe as well as encouraging the development of a culture of dialogue and civilization.
Learning outcomes:
  1. Understand and apply terms from the professional terminology of road traffic in English
  2. Compile CV (europass form), job application letter, offers, complaints
  3. Interpret and use verb tenses in a real language context
  4. Present their own ideas related to the development of traffic solutions
  5. Write a longer essay within the course topics
  6. Be able to communicate in a foreign language within the course topics, to express one's own opinions
  7. Compare and evaluate different traffic solutions
  8. Analyze more complex texts and solve tasks
  9. Use part of general language competences at level B2
