Description:
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the market conditions in which businesses operate, the assumptions that need to be fulfilled for the purpose of realizing the business for which they have been founded and the understanding of basic concepts related to the business, entrepreneur, entrepreneurship and their interdependence. Furthermore, the aim of the course is to enable students to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of business assets, types of costs and their movements depending on the degree of utilization of the capacity and the calculation of prices and indicators of business performance on the market.
Learning outcomes:
  1. To analyze the basics of the economy of companies, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship, and to assess their interdependence and prerequisites for the establishment and successful operation of a company
  2. Differentiate the basic concepts of company assets, types, duration and method of transferring value to new products and services
  3. Assess the necessary funds for the operation of a company in tourism, choose a method for calculating the depreciation of fixed assets and, for example, valorize the calculation of depreciation, necessary working capital and the degree of capacity utilization
  4. Differentiate the types of costs, places and bearers of costs, as well as the dependence on the degree and changes in capacity utilization, and using the example of companies in tourism to valorize the impact of costs on the company's financial result
  5. Propose calculation methods for calculating the price of products and services, and analyze measures of business success
  6. To present a seminar paper in which the business of a company is dealt with
