Description:
The aim of the course is for students to acquire basic knowledge and information in the field of pharmacotherapy, pharmacology and clinical pharmacology necessary for professional nursing graduates in their everyday work with patients.
Learning outcomes:
  1. explain the foundations of general pharmacology and clinical pharmacology according to areas
  2. describe the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the main groups of drugs
  3. recognize the expected effects of the most commonly used drugs, their side effects and interactions
  4. list medications, their use and effects in special groups of patients (elderly,
    children, pregnant women, in case of impaired kidney or liver function)
  5. present basic knowledge about clinical trials of drugs as well as legislation in the field of drugs
