To familiarize students with the basics of research methodology, types of research, ways of using information related to the field of nursing and the nursing profession and the application of statistical methods and procedures in nursing.

1. to clarify the concept of scientific research, the types of scientific research and the methodology of scientific research
2. to integrate knowledge of scientific methodology, statistical methods and procedures with the body of knowledge on the use of information in the field of health care
3. to apply basic knowledge and skills for research and the use of structural and scientific literature and different methods of research in health care
4. to explain the process of writing and publishing a scientific paper
5. to critically analyse various data and scientific studies on health care.
