Description:
To enable the student to acquire basic knowledge of the most common pains of the ear, throat, nose in terms of the recognition of clinical symptoms and treatment of the patient and the patients affected. Students will also learn about life-threatening emergency conditions in otorhinolaryngology and how to manage them.
Learning outcomes:
  1. describe the anatomy and physiological processes in the ear, throat and nose, otorhinolaryngological pain, its symptoms and signs, methods of diagnosis and treatment (to explain and understand the basic principles of otorhinolaryngological therapy)
  2. describe the symptoms and signs of emergency conditions in otorhinolaryngology and the basic methods of assistance
  3. describe the status of epistaxis and REKAS, nasal septal deformity: diagnostic workup, basics of treatment
