Description:
Introduce students to breastfeeding promotion programs in Croatia, the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother, the child, and the entire community. The acquired knowledge should enable students to understand successful lactation and identify risk factors that affect the quality of breastfeeding.
Learning outcomes:
  1. Describe the normal physiology of lactation, the normal breastfeeding process, assess the quality of breastfeeding, and discuss potential complications that may arise in both the mother and the infant, as well as their prevention
  2. Explain the procedures for improving milk secretion, sucking, and milk let-down
  3. Explain breastfeeding techniques and various positions for successful and comfortable breastfeeding
  4. Explain the technique for expressing and storing breast milk
  5. Describe the specifics of breastfeeding children with disabilities
  6. Explain the importance of supporting breastfeeding promotion programs in Croatia
