Description:
To familiarize students with the basic principles, philosophy and organization of palliative care and the assessment for the need of planning, implementation and evaluation of palliative care in the last stage of life in hospital, hospice and nursing home, as well as the management of the patient's family support during pain and mourning.
Learning outcomes:
  1. to clarify the philosophy and principles of palliative care and the basic benefits of palliative care in hospitals, hospices and nursing home
  2. indicate the organizational forms and methods of palliative care
  3. demonstrate planned palliative care
  4. organise professional and social support for the patient and his/her family
  5. identify ethical issues in palliative care
