To acquaint students with social processes, phenomena and relations, the laws of their development, but also mutual relations and dependence, as well as the context
society as a whole, with special emphasis on the
Learning outcomes:
  1. Differentiate, define and explain the basic concepts of sociology
  2. Explain, differentiate, interpret and compare different sociological theories, schools and directions of classical and contemporary approaches
    (related to various social problems and various relevant social topics)
  3. To investigate social processes at the elementary level
  4. Analyze and explain relevant social phenomena, processes and trends of contemporary societies
  5. Define, analyze and explain basic social institutions, and explain the influence of the socio-historical context on them
  6. Describe and explain the concepts of social control and deviance
  7. Explain the relationship between the state and politics towards the civil sector of society
  8. Identify, compare and explain the place and role of contemporary Croatian society with regard to different social processes
    within the globalized world
  9. Recognize the role of legal culture and sociology of law in society
