Description:
Familiarize students with the fundamental principles of care for pregnant women, new mothers, and postpartum women: educating them about nutrition, breastfeeding, and breastfeeding techniques, physiological changes, physical activity for promoting and maintaining health, and disease prevention during pregnancy and after childbirth. Students will also be introduced to healthcare for healthy and ill newborns, including preterm infants.
Learning outcomes:
  1. Explain the fundamental principles of care for pregnant women, new mothers, and postpartum women
  2. Apply the process of healthcare for pregnant women, new mothers, and postpartum women
  3. Conduct education for pregnant women, new mothers, and postpartum women on nutrition, breastfeeding and breastfeeding techniques, physiological changes, and physical activity, with the aim of promoting and maintaining health and preventing diseases during pregnancy and after childbirth
  4. Explain to the pregnant woman the methods of delivery, preparation for childbirth, potential complications during labor, a normal postpartum period, and postpartum complications
  5. Provide healthcare for newborns or preterm infants according to their health status/vitality
  6. List the conditions that require emergency interventions in newborns and the specifics of the resuscitation procedure
