Description: | |||||||
In the Republic of Croatia, areas important for nature conservation can be protected by applying one or more mechanisms; almost all areas protected in one of the national categories are also part of the ecological network Natura 2000; some protected areas are recognized as internationally valuable and are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the network of biosphere reserves (UNESCO MaB), the UNESCO World Geoparks network or on the list of internationally valuable wetlands (Ramsar Convention). By declaring the area protected, it is not possible to achieve the preservation of the values ??for which it was declared, but it is necessary to permanently monitor changes and, if necessary, implement activities to improve the condition of the area. Human activities that take place in that area should be monitored and influenced in terms of limiting and adjusting when they represent pressure or encouraging when they contribute to improving the state of values. |
