Description:
The aim of the course is to acquire fundamental knowledge in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international economics, which will assist students in mastering other disciplines in the field of organization and economics. Students will be equipped to analyze economic problems, which will help them in practice when making business decisions, and knowledge of macroeconomic measures and instruments will enable the evaluation of economic policy and the assessment of the impact of economic policy measures on business operations.

Course Content:
Introduction to Economics; Supply and Demand: How do markets work?; Elasticity and its Applications; Demand and Consumer Behavior; Production and Business Organization; Cost Analysis; Market Failures; Market Structures; Factor Markets; State and the Economy; Income Distribution and Poverty; Fundamental Concepts of Macroeconomics; Aggregate Supply and Demand; Financial Markets and the Money Question; Monetary Policy.
Learning outcomes:
  1. To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the course content, define and describe the fundamental concepts of economics as a science that deals with addressing the problem of scarcity.
  2. To analyze economic trends in the market by applying the laws of supply and demand.
  3. To analyze consumer behavior regarding the demand for products.
  4. To explain how factor markets operate.
  5. To calculate and interpret various measures of macroeconomic activity, such as gross national income, inflation, and unemployment.
  6. To connect fundamental economic principles and insights, their overall nature and occurrence, as well as similarities and differences.
  7. To analyze the business cycle using aggregate demand and aggregate supply.
