A transport corridor is defined as a transport route with associated transport infrastructure along which people (passengers) and goods move by appropriate means of transport, which can be a maritime, road, rail, river, pipeline, or air transport corridor. The term commodity-traffic flow implies the movement of commodity exchange in the world that takes place along specific transport routes, routes, or corridors, and the basic characteristics of commodity-traffic flows in today's world are direction (determined by origin and destination), intensity (determined by the amount of transported goods in a certain time unit), and type (type of means of transport and transported goods). The goal of the course is for students, based on theoretical knowledge and case studies: to become familiar with the origin and development of all transport branches, to analyze and comment on the development of commodity exchange in the World and the Republic of Croatia, and to distinguish between the main transport corridors in Europe and the Republic of Croatia. |
