Description:
Road transport is one of the most important branches of transport in today's world, which refers to the performance of transport processes (including all its stages from preparation, execution, and completion) whether in passenger or freight road transport. Road transport technology as a part of this transport branch studies and analyzes the efficiency of the transport process expressed by the number of transported passengers or the transported amount of transport substrate (passenger and cargo transport work performed per unit of time). The aim of this course for students is based on theoretical knowledge and case studies, to define the elements of road transport technology, learn about the elements of road transport technology and their interdependence in planning the transport process, understand the technical-technological features of the elements, adopt a critical way of reasoning in organizing the modern transport process, learn the basic principles of road transport technology, organization and the possibilities of adapting the characteristics of transport requirements to market requirements, and apply the learned content of this course in business practice.
Learning outcomes:
  1. To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of course content by defining and describing the basic principles of road
    transport technology and organization.
  2. To enumerate and explain the elements of road transport technology.
  3. To distinguish and evaluate the technical and technological characteristics of the elements of road transport technology.
  4. To analyze and compare the characteristics of transportation requirements.
  5. To create a transport process, calculate fleet coefficients and indicators and recommend an optimal solution.
  6. To use materials and tools to search scientific and professional literature in their native and English languages.
  7. To present the acquired knowledge, ideas, problems and solutions independently and in a team.
